Please note that I am not a dealer and I do not sell or trade pirate copies of official material.

I am simply a collector who is seeking by these web pages to provide an Internet Beatles resource for both casual and serious fans alike, which is the reason for the inclusion of both official releases and promo's as well as Beatlegs. I have no intention of breaking the law.

When The Beatles were together John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote a number of what I would call brilliant songs, and after they broke up as individuals John and Paul continued writing and recording. Despite some of what they wrote being good, I don't think individually either of them were of the same high quality as when they wrote together. Even though some of the songs credited to Lennon-McCartney were not written together, they were still brilliant I think because they had input into each others lives; and therefore inspired each other.

I think most of John's songs were good and one of them which is still well known is 'Imagine'. Retrospectively a couple of years after this was released Paul issued 'Band on the Run', which I think is also a very, very good song and album, and although he has also released many other excellent records, I don't feel that he or John were as good as individuals as they were together.

I want to say that although I am a fan, I am only a fan of their music. I feel that although a lot of their solo work was good, both John and Paul also went through a number of times when I think in reality some of there music output seemed like rubbish. Having said this though, individually I am much more a fan of John than Paul, George or Ringo.

Contrary to the much hyped record industry "party line", it is pirating that costs both the record industry and the artists money, not the bootlegging of otherwise unavailable material by classic never to be seen again artists like The Beatles and John Lennon.

Not only did John Lennon admit in one of his last interviews to collecting bootlegs of both his own and Beatles material, but Yoko has been behind making most of John's unreleased canon available to the black market via the Lost Lennon Tapes radio shows.

Serious fans of The Beatles have all of the official releases, even though we have had to fork out time and time again for the same material, albeit in different packaging. Examples of this are things like the Red and Blue albums, the CD singles and EP's boxed sets and the 30th Anniversary White Album.

If bootlegging of The Beatles were to be totally stamped out it would certainly not mean that either I or other collectors would go out and spend our money on various artists official releases.

I suggest that record industry money that is currently devoted to chasing people like Vigotone and Yellow Dog would be far better spent going after people who pirate official releases and stamping out real crime like drug pushing.
