Running Time: 90 minutes

John, Paul, George and Ringo - four lads who shook the world. They played, they recorded, they conquered the planet.
And they did it all in the space of a decade.
This is an all new documentary special tells the true story of The Beatles - from humble beginnings in Liverpool,
to the break-up of the biggest band in the world.
Their story is told for the very first time using original rare film and video of the band, including home-movies,
concert footage, newsreels and photographs from private collections.
There are also interviews with those who surrounded the band, and those who were there from the very start. Also
included is an exclusive interview with fan and star in his own right, Phil Collins.
This documentary is an amazing trove of video and audio treasures to fascinate Beatles fans, even those who think
they've seen it all before!
For the first time we can see The Beatles relaxed, at play, on and off stage, on film, and is a rare glimpse inside
the lives of the most famous band in the world.

This DVD contains the earliest known footage of The Beatles filmed on stage in Liverpool
in February 1962. The only existing film of The Beatles on tour in Scotland, recorded at
Caird Hall, Dundee in October 1964. Material shot in the Bahamas in February 1965 during
the filming on Help! Footage from September 1967 in Newquay whilst filming Magical Mystery
Tour. Home movie footage from appearance at Paris Olympia Theatre January 1964.
Highlights of a fascinating interview with John Lennon recorded in New York for French TV.

With additional contributions from:
Phil Collins, Steve Harley, Norman 'Hurricane' Smith, Colin Hanton (their first drummer),
Sam Leach (tour manager), Tony Barrow (press officer 1962-1968), Tony Bramwell (friend and roadie),
Ken Dodd, Tony Booth, Gerry Marsden, Len Goodman, Sylvie Varten.

Comments
a) The background music used is not Beatles music but is rock and roll from the early sixties and has obviously been
recorded recently.

b) Very unsupected yet nice to see some clips of an interview with John Lennon that was apparently recorded in 1975.
I don't think I have seen this before and its a shame that the whole interview isn't on this disc as a seperate track.

c) Its nice to see some colour footage of an early Beatles show, in Scotland, in 1963. Something else that could / should
have been put on this disc in its entirety as a seperate track.

d) Also shown in colour are parts of The Beatles show at the Olympia in Paris in early 1964.

e) I think the index on this DVD is bad as it is broken down into five chapters but nowhere does it say what each chapter covers.
